Penny Wars!

Penny Wars
At the January Meeting we decided to start Penny Wars again. It's a great fundraiser to help make money for Pony Club. We do like money! So the objective is to get more points than the other team. You collect change (or dollar bills if you prefer) and bring it to the meetings and give it to an officer and they will add up the points that you have brought in.

PENNY WARS: OFFICIAL PONY CLUB RULES

  1. Members wanting to participate will be divided into two teams.
  2. The goal is to help your team get the most points by the end of the wars.
  3. To earn points for your team, you donate pennies. Each penny is equal to one point.
    • Example: Susie donates $1 in pennies (100 pennies) to her team, team #1. Her team’s total point value is 100.
  4. To take away points from the other team, you donate silver coins and dollars (nickels, dimes, quarters and $1, $5, or $20 bills.) The silver coins subtract points from the other team’s total.
    • Example: Tammy, who is on team #2, donates a quarter (25 points) to team #1. Therefore, team #1 must subtract 25 points from their total. Team #1’s new total is 75 points.
  5. A nickel is equal to five points; a dime is equal to 10 points; quarters equal to 25 points and so on. A one dollar bill is equal to 100 points, a five dollar bill equal to 500 points, etc.
  6. Members must donate their coins as follows: place silver coins and dollar bills in one Ziploc bag. Place pennies in another. In permanent marker write name and team number/name clearly on both baggies. Turn in baggies at monthly meetings to Penny Wars supervisor.
  7. Points will be totaled at the end of Penny Wars and a winner will be decided! Winners get a fabulous prize!
  8. Confused? Don’t worry; Penny Wars is kind of a confusing fundraiser. Ask your Penny Wars Supervisor with any questions

The Prize for winning penny wars is a free volunteer ride, but there is a catch. ALL of the groups (team 1/team 2 put together) needs to raise $150 or more. If penny wars doesnt make that much than no one gets the free volunteer ride. If we do reach our goal of $150 then the team with the most money gets the ride.
